Logo design is the cornerstone to your branding. To build a strong brand, you must have a strong image, and that is where your logo comes in. It is extremely important to develop an image that will convey your product and service, while attracting attention. Your logo should be easily read from a distance, as well as in a small size, such as used in your email signature and business card.

Advertising Design is the design of print & digital ads. Don’t leave this to your advertising publication/marketing co. to do for free! While you may receive a great looking ad, if it is not in tune with your overall image, it will not be as effective. You have allot of competition. Your ad is surrounded by other ads fighting to gain a readers attention. Your email blasts are part of a long list of other emails waiting to be viewed.
Your ad design is an integral part of your branding. Your ad needs to clearly and quickly portray your product or service, in an attention getting manner that is consistent with the image of your website, logo, staff shirts and vehicle signage.
Rock Stone Tavern
Digital Ad Campaign for video and web usage. Objective was to create a design that could easily be recognized as the Rock Stone Brand, and then develop variations, depending on the "type" of ad this is (Food, beverage, entertainment). These ads are used in online advertising and displayed in a video feed between music videos in the club.
Pedregal De Cabo San Lucas
Concept, Design and Production. Print advertising. (Left)This housing development is set on top of a mountain, therefore I created the concept, and then the design with visual to support the headline. (Right) Housing listings can be very boring to look at, but with Wendy handling the design, you can see here, that there will always be style.
Cabaret Night Club
Rebranding. The Cabaret was formerly a strip club, so I had the challenge to develop a strong rebranding campaign. I began with the logo, creating an image that reflected a dinner club. My objective in the ads was to show that this is the place to see great entertainment, while enjoying good food and drinks in a cabaret atmosphere.

International Travel Exchange
Concept, Design and Production. This ad was developed to attract attention to what could be a very boring ad. Competitors ad runs in black and white as text only and is easy to pass over.
When working with Bling Advertising Design, the first step it to create a great concept and then develop your design. An attractive woman throwing money around? Wouldn't you read that ad? That's my CONCEPT, the first step in the creation of an effective ad.
Le Menu LightStyle Dinners
This was a tear sheet for a sweepstakes promotion. I was responsible for design and concept, as well as photostyling and shopping for models wardrobe and accessories. Naturally, the towel does not lay perfectly over her shoulder and the bathing suit can't show folds, so the details I put into the styling of the shoot was cutting the towel so it lays naturally, tape to keep it in place and clothes pins on the back of the bathing suit so material looks smooth.
CSL Organic Market
This ad was a bit of a challenge. There were two businesses to be advertised that fell under a parent company, and a coupon. This is a print ad at 4" square, so the challenge was to keep it clean and attractive while including visuals for the components above along with contact information and location.

CSLHS and LOS CABOS HUMANE SOCIETY
Branding was done for events and organizations. "Dressed to the K-9's" is an annual fundraising event which I branded eight years ago. Every year the theme changes, so the logo serves as it's strongest identity. Following this, I created branding for the "Paws N Claws" Golf fund raiser. Primary inclusions are "Save the date" mailings and ads, invitation, print and digital ads, directions page, signage and I handled media relations.
The Cabo San Lucas branding, featuring the color blue, was created as there was an existing logo, with no branding in place. Various collateral was printed with this branding and when this association evolved into the Los Cabos Humane Society, the new logo and rebranding began, as shown with the red and brown theme. Please see logo portfolio for the history of the logo's evolution.
COPA LAS AMERICAS SURFING CIRCUIT

I am an expert in designing Marketing Collateral. I have experience in numerous fields. Collateral is basically various forms of advertising your services in print and digital form. Brochures and Media Kits are examples of collateral.
Producing Marketing Collateral will benefit you as it is an important part of sharing details about your business. Your collateral should have a uniform look so it is recognizable to your clients. This is how you build brand identity. Brochures and media kits, etc. are where you can give detailed information to your customer, that can’t be provided in a small display ad, for example.

Cabo Winery Restaurant
Concept to completion for this C-fold brochure. Cabo Winery Restaurant is a restaurant, bar and lounge featuring a bottling facility for it's California aged wines, as well as a cold cellar dining room. Extensive photoshop work was done on this brochure, as the dining cellar was to be represented an a layout a bit different than in reality. The outdoor signage was not complete nor in place, therefore I did photoshop work on additional photos to show a more attractive entrance. Photos and text were provided by client.
Publishing is defined as a book, magazine, guide, newspaper, etc. I have been designing and producing published material since 2002.
My experience in publishing is extensive in both design and production. I am the cofounder and former Creative Director of Planeta Surf, Mexico’s first surfing magazine. I have developed, 33 editions of the 98 page print and digital publication Planeta Surf.
I am also the developer, designer and production artist of a 68 page “info guide”as well as a 24 page full color newspaper. All of these projects were started from scratch with my clients or cofounder. I am experienced in editing and production for a 203 page book, in 2 versions, bilingual in Spanish and English.
Planeta Surf Magazine
Cofounder. Creative Director. Co editor. Production and Web site development. 2002-2012.
Mexico's first surfing magazine. I was approached by a mexican surfer who had the dream to create a surfing magazine for the Mexican people, in their own language about their own country, advertising local brands and businesses. After one year in development, designing prototypes and selling ads, Planeta Surf printed her first edition in May of 2003 and is celebrating her 10th Anniversary! Started as an quarterly magazine printed in Spanish, the magazine quickly grew and became a bi-monthly magazine, eventually becoming bilingual due to a numerous requests and distribution in the USA.
Originally I was responsible for design, photography, front end web design, accounts payable/receivable, printing and all vendor and employee relations. I eventually moved out of the office manager position and took over production in addition to creative design and ad sales. In 2009 I did an entire redesign on the website and put all current and past editions online. After I retired from the business in 2012, all digital editions were taken down and the current site was built, which no longer reflects my work.
Los Cabos Info Guide
This is a 64 page guide created for tourists. It contains business and service listings, maps, and information on the area. My concept was to have an attractive look that readers would want to keep, with advertisers coupons to support the desire to keep. Each section featured attractive people in a setting representing the section at hand. I was responsible for researching stock photography, directing live photography, and creating a "collage" type design for each section. Each section is marked with a color coding to make searching through the guide quick and easy.
I was also responsible for selling and designing of most of the ads in the guide. I handled local distribution in town, and the majority of the guides were distributed through Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rentals.
Resort Family News
Client wished to create a family friendly newspaper. I was responsible for creating the name of the brand, designing the masthead, and the entire layout of the 16 page publication. In order to create family fun time together, this newspaper featured games and activities, planning calendars, etc. which I created visually. I was responsible for editorial content, as well as all photography. It was up to me to find articles and activities which could be reproduced with authorization, as some articles are original to the paper and some are not. Each edition featured a full color center spread with images of the location. This newspaper was created for three geographical locations to start. My production included taking the original newspaper, and then changing all location related articles and images, and changing them to be applicable. All distribution was at resorts, therefore the name Resort Family News.
TheTribe of the Waves
Project: 240 page coffee table book. Being the Creative Director of Planeta Surf magazine, and well respected in the Mexican Surf Industry, I was approached by the author of this book to complete a project he'd began developing with an ad agency.
I was provided with an Indesign file which was incomplete. My job was to add style to the book, edit the text, change, replace and format photos. I also added additional chapters and photos, a credits page and photo credits. I designed the book cover, jacket and all sales materials.
After completing the book, I created a second version in Spanish. I completed the books to point until a publisher was acquired (leaving trademarked photos for position only). The publisher then acquired all rights to historic photos and finalized the file with high resolution photos, and both versions went to press!
NuWaterUSA has a new water purification testing unit, developed for scientists. They call me to develop their 40 page User Manual. I was responsible for overall design, layout, illustration and production. I created technical illustrations that had been provided in low resolution and were in need of recreation, as were icons for "caution", etc.
When designing an invitation, I start by creating a visual image that will give the reader an idea of what the party/event is about, before reading the text. I have a very elegant style that I create for wedding invitations and high end fund raisers. I create a bold style for events that feature attractions, etc. I feel that the font selection is one of the most important components in an invitation, and is another part of my design focus.
I spent the first seven years of my career designing invitations to sporting, entertainment and various casino events. I’ve done allot of corporate event invitations, and am now enjoying for individuals who want something custom for birthday parties, bridal and baby showers and weddings.
Whatever your design needs be, I am creative and here to get it done in a timely manner at a reasonable cost.
I have come to love menu design. Many designers prefer to stay away from menus due to heavy text, frequent changes and generally it can be thought of as a “boring” job but not for me! I see menus as a challenge. I want to have a nice visual look, and an easy to read font and various font weights. After living and breathing creation of a 98 page magazine for almost a decade (Planeta Surf), a text heavy menu is not a drag for me. Bling! it on.
Cabo Blue Bar Menu, Two Sided
Shooter's Sports Bar Menu, Two Sided
Caleb's Café Breakfast and Lunch Menus

PHOTO EDITING WORK
I have been working in Adobe PhotoShop for over a decade. I began with color correction, which I used greatly when editing surf photography. As I learned the capabilities of this program, I became able to create things that do not exist. This comes up in advertising more than you would realize. I recently was given a photo of an electrical unit which was not turned on during photography, therefore I made it look like the screen was lit up, and that there were readings showing. Shown in my portfolio here are some of the more complex works, such as making the “wine cellar room” look like there are barrels and a waterfall where they do not exist. While most of my photographer friends us this source to delete wrinkles and give brides a healthy glow, I use it to CREATE. The entire inside of the brochures for Sea Eye are “collages” made of numerous different photographs. So bling it on! I love to create.
PHOTO EDITING WORK
MARINA SECTION OF SEA EYE COLLAGE
The start and end point of this tour is in front of a restaurant that cold not be seen well in the original photos, so I made that sign large and visible. The mall is off to the right, so I made a representation of that, as it also is part of the tour. The sea lion was added by me as well.
LAND SECTION OF SEA EYE TOURS COLLAGE
The tour on this yacht, brings you around an entire bay. My reasoning behind this collage is so that the customer can know that they will not only see the main focus of the tour, but also some of the sights on the beach that they would be missing if not for this full circle tour.
All elements were separate and I used the genus of Photoshop to put them all together. The scuba diver, tutee and whale underwater are also put there by me, by creating monochromatic images of each and placing them in this file with some transparency.
BEACH SECTION OF SEA EYE TOURS COLLAGE
For the beach part of the tour, I had several elements to put together, and to get the signs on the beach bars to be seen well, again I had to make not only the signs larger than in reality, but I made the roofs larger as well.
All elements above the crowded beach scene where individual photos that I shilouetted and put onto the beach.
Rock Stone Outdoor Banners
The objective of these banners were to attract passers by, and let them know that there is a rock tavern upstairs. Placed at the entrance, this is a 2 sided sign. Images of women were individual photos. The beer glass is a separate photo. The logos on the beer glass were placed there by me and then edited to look like they are really on the glass. Crown shot and other images were individually added to create this attention getting large banner.
NuWater USA Purification Unit
This very nice product shot was taken while the unit was turned off. In order for this photo to be more attractive for usage on the cover and interior of a users manual, I created a "green screen" and typed readings and made them look like this was a lit up digital display. These are the kind of details that I put my attention on. Many clients would not even notice this detail, so be assured that I am on the lookout to make your advertising the best possible.
WEB SITE DESIGN
I began designing websites about eight years ago, creating the layout and design, and worked with back end programmers to insure that your site not only looks great, but functions correctly and us easily found in searches. Now, I design websites, both front and back end for informational sites. I have competent SEO and social marketing experts who can help you make the most of what the worldwide web has to offer, and who can maintain your site for optimum usage.
